ITFC Serbian Branch
Ipswich Town now has a supporters club in Serbia, thanks to Uros Zivaljevic.
Uros has been in correspondence with Barry Calver from the Supporters Club via email for a couple of months and on Sunday 11th November they held an inaugural meeting and the ITFC Serbia branch was formed.
The branch currently has 18 members in total which include a chairman and secretary, all are based in Belgrade. The branch also has another 4 honorary members, one of which they can be proud to say is Town legend Kevin Beattie.

Why Ipswich Town?
Uros started to follow Ipswich Town in the 99/00 season when they won the playoffs. Two of his friends then joined him in following the club. Ever since itfc.co.uk has become his home page, and when he saw that Town were coming to Serbia for a match against Sartid he had to see the team live so he and one of his friends went to Smederevo for the match. More and more of his friends have shown interest in ITFC and have started to follow the Town.

Uros said “obviously, I am the biggest fan of Ipswich amongst us, but that doesn't matter, as the club has more and more supporters here. I must say that I am surprised how many people are interested in joining our branch and to learn something about Ipswich Town. There are many members' friends and friends' friends so our number will certainly grow.
We are all from Belgrade, and unfortunately we haven’t been to Portman Road”.
“I have listened to the live radio commentary over the website until new setup was introduced which was too expensive for somebody in Serbia, but I believe now we are going to collect the money and afford ourselves a live commentary”.

“Fortunately, there is a TV station in Serbia that has bought TV rights for the Championship so I can see my team on TV now but it's the league with many clubs so single one of them is rarely on screen. So, website, sometimes TV and hopefully we will buy a membership in the Ipswich World site so we can listen or see any match or at least highlights”.
“We are now trying to get in touch with branches of other clubs here in Serbia and make some contacts and arrange maybe a friendly football tournament or match.”

Barry Calver from the Supporters Club said” the supporters club currently has 27 branches with 8 of these branches being overseas. It’s always good to hear from Town supporters not just in this country but also overseas who are interested in setting up new branches”
“This season I have received emails from Town fans in Spain, Corfu, Sweden and Turkey enquiring about setting up supporters branches.
This shows that although season tickets maybe down compared to previous seasons the club still has a strong fan base not only in this country but also aboard”
“All the Serbian branch members voted on the choice of the new away shirt for next season, they maybe thousands of miles away but they still wish to have a say on the club they follow”.
Why not send Uros an email itfcserbia@EUnet.yu wishing him best of luck with the new branch…. ITFC Serbia
