4378 Branch
Updates
W Anglia :
The Academy day had been very successful and they wished to thank the club for
holding it. They also
suggested
that it would be a good idea for the football club to allocate an academy day
for each branch so that they
could watch
an under 18's game in the morning and a first team match in the afternoon. They
felt that the day had helped
them cement
the relationship with the club and supporter. A Ten pin bowling match had
been arranged with MK Dons supporters.
Clacton : The
branch was formed in 1969 and they will be organising a dinner in 2009 to
celebrate 40 years. A ten pin
bowling night
and a cruise on the Orwell had also been arranged. One of the
members of the branch (Norman Starrs)
was going on
a bike ride around Egypt to raise funds for deaf children, any other branch
wishing to sponsor him please
contact
Clacton branch.
4379 Football Club
Matters
No
representative was present from the football club but those branches present
wished to raise the following
points
ITFC
i. To raise
more funds for the club would it not be possible to allocate a larger area at
certain matches for away fans
eg.
Charlton and Norwich.
ii.
Security Searching : This was felt to be over the top at certain times
. Bags are searched but if all the items which are
usually in a
bag are put into coat pockets, the actual person is not searched and is
carrying the same items into the ground.
Some
stewards seem to search more than others. Regular supporters have
been searched at the beginning of the season but
now are not
searched where in other parts of the ground the same people are searched at each
game.
iii.
Confusion seems to arise over the coach tickets for away matches. If
booking tickets a few days before a match a
supporter was
informed that only emergency coach tickets were available, they contacted the
club the day before the game
and were told
the same, they asked what accounted as an emergency but were not
given an answer. They came along
on the day of
the game and found that Coach 1 had 4 spare places, Coach 2 had 6, and
also Coaches 4 & 5 had spare
places. They went to Planet Blue to purchase a coach ticket and were
told that none were available.
4380 Any Other
